I was discussing the Americanization of aging in women my age with my Mother In Law. I was also explaining my stance on the minimal importance of beauty products. My goal is to age gracefully. To me, that means looking like myself, only older. If that means wrinkles, age spots, gray hairs, etc…why not? Why should I be afraid of getting older if it happens to everyone who is blessed enough to get older.

I was all self righteous talking down on beauty products when I realized: “Hey. I put a lot of crap on myself to look the way I look”

Here goes:

So, maybe I should step it down a notch when I claim to not care about the projected condition of my skin at age 50.
