The next day was Saturday, which was the perfect day to take the F-Line to the Embarcadero. That means GOOD FOOD!
Dumplings for me.
Empanadas for Bear.
Stephen ate the best French Toast he has ever eaten. He actually had French Toast EVERY morning of our vacation weekend. He’s so silly! 🙂
Waiting for Daddy to finish ordering his magical French Toast.
From the Embarcadero, we took a ferry to Sausalito. We did it for the view and ride more than for Sausalito itself.
We relaxed a bit on the Ferry. Coloring, Facebooking, you know.
We stopped by an ADORABLE shop which sold miniature animal figurines/toys. We bought A BUNCH and spent the rest of the trip making up all kinds of games with them.
We bought burgers at a small hamburger stand and ate them on the ferry ride back to the other side.
We took the F-line back up to Fisherman’s Wharf.
As I waited in line for the cable car, Stephen and Lara went to Ghirardelli Square and came across one of Lara’s favorite things….FACEPAINTING!!
After about an (ridiculous!) hour wait, we took the cable car up to Lombardy Road.
Walking downhill is supposed to be easy, right? WRONG! I had a MEAN case of shin splints for the rest of the trip. Totally worth it, though. Look at the view!
She turned into quite the poser with the face painting. Lombardy inspired her. 🙂
At the bottom! Somebody get me some Tiger Balm!!
We walked down to Washington Square Park and took a bus up to Coit Tower (THANK THE LORD, because walking up there would have been crazy talk at this point).
The murals, while we waited to go up the tower.
She had a bit of a rough moment at the top. Kind of a funny place to breakdown. 🙂
It took FOREVER to get “home” from Coit Tower. After we took the bus down, it started to rain. We weren’t able to catch a cable car because they were all overflowing with people. We were going to walk, when it REALLY started raining and my shin splints were screaming…we finally hailed a cab.
BTW, every time we would get back to the hotel room after housekeeping did their thing, we would find this. Sweet, huh? 🙂
After we ALL took a LOONG rest, we went out for ramen. After an hour wait (AT 10PM!!!), we had the best ramen of our whole lives. Lara ate California Rolls. 🙂
